SSI SCHAEFER Tops the List - Again

The 11th annual ranking by US trade magazine, Modern Materials Handling (MMH), put SSI SCHAEFER on the top of the list again, in its latest release this April.

The top 20 worldwide material handling system suppliers had an overall 23% revenue increase from last year’s numbers. And 2007 is obviously a big year for the material handling business, with 17 of the top 20 suppliers recording revenue growth, mostly double digits gains.

SSI SCHAEFER, together with Daifuku, FKI, Dematic and Mecalux makes top 5 of the list, in the same order, both in 2006 & 2007. Competitions were keen and top-ranked SSI SCHAEFER reported major projects in the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany and developing Eastern European countries helped make 2007 a record-breaking year. Total worldwide revenue stands at US$ 2.412 billion for fiscal year 2007.

Making the list

To qualify for MMH's list, companies must be suppliers of materials handling systems, not just equipment providers. In addition to manufacturing at least two major handling system components, a company must also employ full-time staff that designs, installs and integrates materials handling systems.

Companies must have a presence in North America to be considered worldwide suppliers. They must also be able to report their materials handling revenues to MMH's editors.
