SSI SCHAEFER Launches New Order-picking system and SRM at CeMAT 2008

Premiering at the CeMAT 2008 this coming May, SSI SCHAEFER’s latest innovation in the field of Automatic Order Picking is all set to capture attentions.

Crowned second year running as the world’s largest material handling supplier by the US Trade magazine, Modern Materials Handing (www.mmh.com), SSI SCHAEFER will introduce a fully automated order-picking system designed for the food and beverage industry. All processes, from raw materials supply to the allocation of finished products for shipping on pallets and containers, are seamlessly integrated into full automatic mode. The first-time live presentation of the revolutionary system will be in Hannover. Detailed information will be exclusively given by the intra-logistics specialist during their press conference at the show.

Schäfer Compact Crane (SCC) is the next highlight of the Hannover show, as the latest product innovation in the field of the pallet conveyor system. With the SCC, SSI SCHAEFER presents a new, fundamentally optimized storage and retrieval machine (SRM) developed for standardized load units, in high-bay warehouses up to a height of 20 meters.

The performance and optional equipment features of SCC covers almost 70 percent of market requirements, and weighs about 15 percent lighter than conventional SRMs due to its compact design. Due to its optimized concepts for development and production, the acquisition of the SCC is more economical in comparison to other SRMs.

The new SSI SCHAEFER Compact Crane is available in two versions, as SCC-SD for single-deep and SCC-DD for double-deep storage. With their load-carrying devices, the SCC are specialized in the transport of the common Euro and industry pallets with a total weight of up to 1,000 kilograms (SCC-DD) or up to 1,250 kilograms (SCC-SD) per load unit. The low starting measurements provide a favorable utilization of space in the warehouse.
